Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr.Rager
LP Album Redesign
Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager by Kid Cudi is an emotional album that explores themes of fame, addiction, and mental health. Through moody, experimental production blending hip-hop, rock, and electronic elements, Cudi dives into his inner struggles, using his alter ego, Mr. Rager, to express feelings of loneliness, frustration, and escapism. The album is known for its introspective lyrics and dark, atmospheric sound, making it a deeply personal and raw journey through the highs and lows of his life.

The album features a track titled "MANIAC," with lyrics that reference a web. To visually connect this theme, I incorporated close-up shots of a spider web to highlight the intricate, natural lines that evoke both beauty and complexity, enhancing the album’s overall design.

In Photoshop, duotones were applied to harmonize the front and back covers, enhancing the image's warm tones. The choice of orange and yellow within the duotone effect accentuates the spiderweb details, creating a cohesive visual link with the front cover and adding warmth and depth.
The natural yellow light on the front cover adds depth and enhances the shadows, contributing to a more serious, ominous tone. This lighting choice subtly enhances the image, emphasizing the ominous tone of the album.
